There’s something powerful about gathering before the world fully wakes up.
The Sunrise Yoga x Huts Coffee session in Raglan was created as a space for people to slow down, reconnect with their bodies, and begin the day feeling grounded and energised. Set beside the water as the sun rose over the hills, we moved through a gentle Te Reo infused Vinyasa flow focused on breath, mobility, nervous system regulation, and mindful movement with Dr.Kiri.
The morning was about community. People arriving sleepy-eyed with mats under their arms, taking a moment to breathe deeply, stretch out tension, and connect with themselves and each other before the rush of the day began. It was also made accessible by making it koha entry so in other words give what you can.
Throughout the session we incorporated grounding breathwork, simple flowing sequences, balance work, and intentional pauses to help people regulate their nervous systems and tune back into their tinana.
After class, everyone wandered over to The Huts Café for coffee, connection, and conversation. Those moments afterwards are often just as meaningful as the practice itself. Humans connecting. Phones down, warm coffee, laughter, and a slower start to the morning.
Events like this are at the heart of what Wild Coast Collective and Dr Kiri are about, creating experiences that bring people back to themselves through movement, community, nature, and nervous system awareness.
Thank you to everyone who came along, shared the morning with us, and supported the vision. We can’t wait to create more experiences like this. 🌊☕️
Thank you to Rangitahi for having us and The Huts for the delicious coffee.
